QuickBooks

Your QuickBooks companies, consolidated into a group running on SAP or NetSuite

Most groups do not run on one accounting system. Planir connects each entity to whatever it runs — QuickBooks in the regional company, NetSuite at the parent, Dynamics 365 in the acquisition — and consolidates all of it in one governed model with intercompany elimination and FX handled.

Plan, report and consolidate across QuickBooks and your ERP

The three jobs your finance team runs every cycle, in one place.

Plan

Budgets you review, not rebuild. Driver-based 3-way budgets built from your QuickBooks history, with every material assumption documented for you to review and approve.

Report

The financial sections, ready to send. The financial core of your board pack and investor update, generated from live QuickBooks data, so the only thing left to add is the narrative.

Consolidate

One view across every company. Real-time group reporting across all your QuickBooks companies, with intercompany eliminations and multi-currency handled for you.

What you can do once QuickBooks is in the group model

Consolidate the group, generate your board and investor reporting, and build the budget, all from the same connected QuickBooks data.

Consolidate every QuickBooks company together

QuickBooks Online keeps every company separate, so Planir consolidates the group for you in real time.

  • Real-time consolidation across all your QuickBooks companies, with no manual roll-up
  • Intercompany eliminations for loans, management fees, and intercompany trading
  • Multi-currency conversion using the closing rate for the balance sheet and the average rate for the P&L
  • Entity, sub-group, and group views that all reconcile to the same source data
  • The consolidated group sliced by class, location, or any dimension you track in QuickBooks

Most of the groups we work with run QuickBooks at subsidiary level and a larger ERP at the parent. Planir treats that mixed estate as the normal case: each entity connects to whatever it runs — SAP, NetSuite, Dynamics 365, Sage Intacct, Xero or any system with an API or SFTP feed — and consolidates into the same group view.

Board and investor reporting from QuickBooks

The financial section of your board pack and investor update, generated straight from QuickBooks.

  • P&L, balance sheet, and cash position generated from live QuickBooks data
  • Variance analysis with commentary explaining what changed and why, sliced by class, location, and period
  • KPI dashboards combining financial and operational metrics
  • Brandable output, ready to circulate, with the same structure next cycle

Planir produces the financial foundation. You add the strategic and operational context that lives outside the accounting system, then send.

Budgets built from your QuickBooks data

A driver-based 3-way budget built from your QuickBooks history, linked across all three statements.

  • Modelled from operational drivers, units and price, headcount and loaded cost, not a percentage on last year
  • Every material assumption documented at the cell level, so you see the reasoning, not just the number
  • Scenarios modelled across all three statements, so a base case can be compared against alternatives
  • Budget-versus-actual tracking once the cycle is underway, by class and location

You stay in control. Planir proposes the budget, you review the logic, override where your business context dictates, and approve.

Common questions about QuickBooks in a group

Can Planir consolidate QuickBooks companies with a parent on a different ERP?
Yes, and that is the normal case. QuickBooks Online has no native way to consolidate a group, so Planir does it — connecting each entity to whatever system it runs, QuickBooks at subsidiary level and SAP, NetSuite, Dynamics 365 or Sage Intacct at the parent, then consolidating in one governed model with intercompany elimination and multi-currency translation.
Does Planir work with QuickBooks Online or Desktop?
Planir connects natively to QuickBooks Online. Data from QuickBooks Desktop is brought in through the universal upload or an API or SFTP feed, using the same structured data model and audit trail as a connected system.
What if only some of our entities are on QuickBooks?
That is the expected condition at a 3–30 entity group. Planir consolidates your QuickBooks companies alongside entities on SAP, NetSuite, Dynamics 365, Sage Intacct, Xero, MYOB or any system with an API or SFTP feed, in the same group view.
Does Planir change our QuickBooks or ERP data?
No. Planir reads from each source system and computes every figure from that source data. Your records are never altered — the ERP or accounting platform stays the system of record, with full data lineage from the final report back to the source entry.
Does Planir handle multi-currency across the group?
Yes. Planir converts at the closing rate for the balance sheet and the average rate for the P&L, and reports the consolidated group across currencies. Groups at this scale typically carry two to eight currencies.
Does Finance still control the budgets and commentary?
Yes. Planir agents propose budgets and commentary with the reasoning documented at cell level. Finance reviews, adjusts and approves before anything is final, and every step is logged in the audit trail.
Will this pass our security review?
Planir is SOC 2 Type II certified, with role-based access by company and GL account, Security by Measure at the field level, MFA enforced and a full audit trail on every change. ISO 27001 certification is in progress.
